2 Rohingyas killed in Cox’s Bazar ‘gunfight’
Two Rohingyas were killed in what the participants of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) called a good gunfight with them in Shaplapur Marine Drive road in Teknaf upazila early on Thursday, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as Saiful Islam, 38, and Nur Kamal, 34. The RAB claimed that these were the participants of ‘Jokhi Robbers Gang’.

Tipped off, a team of RAB-15 carried out a get in the region around 1:00am in which a group of robbers were getting ready to commit a robbery, explained service commander of RAB-15, Teknaf, Shahed Mahtab.

The robbers opened fire on the elite force, forcing them to fire again that triggered a gunfight.

At one stage, two ‘robbers’ were caught in the line of fire as the others were able to flee the scene.

Later, the RAB associates recovered the bullet-reach bodies of two different people.

Three RAB men were injured in the gunfight.

One pistol, 11 cartridges and one gun were recovered from the spot.
