3-story building collapses in India in large rain, killing 11
A three-story dilapidated setting up collapsed following heavy monsoon rains in the western Indian town of Mumbai, killing at least 11 persons and injuring seven other folks, police said Thursday.

A large number of rescuers were clearing the particles to find any people possibly still trapped, officer Ravindra Kadam said.

Kadam said the construction collapsed late Wednesday. Major monsoon rains during the day acquired flooded several parts of the city that's India’s fiscal and entertainment capital.

The New Delhi Tv set channel said the setting up collapsed onto another structure in a slum in the Malad West area of Mumbai.

Residents joined the fire and cops in rescuing people and they took the seven injured to a hospital in the suburban Kandivali place.

Mumbai recorded 222 millimeters (8 inches) of rainfall in 12 time. Tidal waves that reached up to 4. 6 meters (13 foot) avoided the rainfall from staying drained, and roads, rail tracks and neighborhoods were left waterlogged.

Building collapses are normal in India through the June-September monsoon period when major rains weaken the foundations of structures that are poorly built.

In 2019, a three-report setting up collapsed in a hilly area in the northern Indian town of Solan pursuing heavy rains, killing 14 people. A four-report building collapsed in Mumbai the same 12 months and killed 10 people.
