African Superstars Shine As City & Liverpool Play Out A Thriller
Liverpool and Manchester City did not disappoint once again as the two sides played to an entertaining 2-2 draw at Anfield on Sunday evening.

Premier League
Result: Liverpool 2-2 Manchester City
Date: 03 October 2021
Venue: Anfield

Jurgen Klopp went with the same time that started against FC Porto in the UEFA Champions League, while Gabriel Jesus and Phil Foden replaced Raheem Sterling and Riyad Mahrez.

The game got off to a lively start as both sides looked to get the early goal, with Jack Grealish going closest with a strike that was blocked by Joel Matip in the box.

The visitors should have opened the scoring on 21 minutes when Bernardo Silva embarked on a fine run before picking out Foden, who saw his shot smothered.

The chances continued to fall for Pep Guardiola's side as Foden turned provider to send a cross to the far post that found an un-marked Kevin De Bruyne, who headed over the crossbar.

Klopp's men came out with a bit intent in the second half as Diogo Jota forced Ederson into save early on after being picked out by Matip.

The Reds got their reward just before the hour mark as Mohamed Salah skipped past one challenge before impressively laying the ball off for Sadio Mane, who fired a low strike past Ederson.

After Sterling replaced Grealish, the Citizens got back on level terms as Gabriel Jesus did well to pick out Foden on the side and the young midfielder sent a low finish into the far corner on 69 minutes.

That joy did not last for too long for Salah restored the Reds' lead six minutes later as he skipped past two challenges before firing past Ederson.

However, City were back on level terms on 81 minutes when De Bruyne's left-footed strike deflected off Matip and sailed into the back of the net.

Fabinho could have snatched the win with four minutes remaining after the ball dropped into his path, but Rodri came up with a last-ditch block to deny a certain goal.
