Airlines to Raise Fuel Surcharge Amid Rising Oil Prices

Airlines are raising their fuel surcharge amid soaring oil prices.

The fuel surcharge will rise by W5,500 to W46,200 on international flights for Korean air passengers and W6,000 to W38,500 for Asiana Airlines.

Fuel surcharges are applied on international and domestic routes according to changes in the average price of fuel traded on Singapore's spot market.

No fuel surcharge was imposed from May to September last year when oil prices were low, but it resumed in October due to rising prices. The fuel surcharge for domestic flights will remain the same for both airlines at W3,300.
