American and Chinese airlines stepping up cooperation

The aviation market between China and the United States has grown rapidly and the cooperation between the two countries’ airline companies is stepping up despite Sino-US trade friction, Yicai.com reported.
For example, Delta Air Lines, a major US airline, has recently opened direct flights from Atlanta to Shanghai city.
In addition, the Shanghai Airport Authority, which operates both the Pudong and Hongqiao International Airport in Shanghai, has entered into a “Sister Airport” agreement with Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, promoting further cooperation in hub operations, on-time flights and high-tech applications.
Atlanta Airport is the first in the world to handle more than 100 million passengers, and it has secured first place in terms of passenger traffic for twenty consecutive years.
The passenger traffic in Shanghai city comes after after London, New York and Tokyo, ranking fourth in the world.
“We have been paying attention to the changes in passenger demand that may be triggered by Sino-US trade friction,” said Huang Kang, president of Delta Air Lines Greater China and Singapore. “We haven’t seen much impact yet,” he added.
