The teaser release of South star Vijay Deverakonda's pan-India movie 'Liger' has been pushed by the makers as the united states fights the second wave of coronavirus pandemic.
The news headlines came on the occasion of Deverakonda's birthday. The actor and his filmmaker Karan Johar issued a joint statement expressing their concern over the surge in COVID-19 cases in India and said the teaser of their film will be released later.
"Of these testing times, we hope you all are staying indoors and taking care of yourself and your loved ones. We were all geared up to reveal a power packed teaser for 'Liger' on 9th May. However, as a result of current scenario and environment that our country is facing, we have made a decision to postpone the same in the desire to share it with the world at an improved time for all of us all," the statement read. Sharing the post, Vijay wrote, "Some things can wait till most of us and our families are safe and happy... Whenever we make it happen we will celebrate! Everything! I am considering you as well as your dear ones, stay sharp, remain safe." Somethings can wait till most of us and our families are safe and happy.. Whenever we make it happen we will celebrate!
Karan joined in and said, "In light of the existing environment and the testing times our country is facing, our focus is solely on helping the community. Therefore, we have decided to postpone the release of the teaser of #LIGER. We hope you're staying safe, remaining healthy and staying home."
The team urged everyone to check out necessary precautions to contain the spread of the virus and get vaccinated.
"Sit tight and until then we request everyone to stay safe, look after your dear ones, help the other person and get vaccinated at the initial.
"Take all the protective measures as prescribed by the medical fraternity and be certain that - we all have been in this together. See you soon at the theatres whenever we are healthy and strong as a country," the statement added. The first poster of the movie was unveiled in January this season.
