Apple issues iPhone 11 recall in UAE due to screen problem
23 March, 2021
Apple has issued a good recall for iPhone 11 devices found in the UAE due to a touchscreen problem.
The business has started a "Display Module Replacement Program" and invited smartphone users over the emirates to see if their product is eligible via the Apple website.
"Apple provides determined that a tiny percentage of iPhone 11 displays may stop responding to touch thanks to a concern with the screen module. Affected units were made between November 2019 and May 2020," it wrote in a support concept on its site.
Users can input their device's serial amount to check on if it is part of the recall.
Apple noted that only the iPhone 11 is part of the replacement scheme.
It added that any destruction "which impairs the ability to complete the service, like a cracked display, that issue should be resolved ahead of the service".
Users who've already paid for a service for the touch concern can request a good refund, Apple said.
iPhone biggest selling smartphone
Apple crossed 1.65 billion active devices globally through the first quarter. iPhones accounted for over 1 billion of these devices.
The iPhone 11 was the biggest selling smartphone during the first three quarters of 2020, data from industry watchers Omdia, Canalys and IDC showed.
The tech giant is focusing on an iPhone with a foldable screen, similar to Samsung's Fold, according to reports.
