Apple's Latest Phone Pricier in Korea Than in U.S, Japan

Apple's latest flagship smartphone, iPhone XS, is more expensive in Korea than in the U.S., Japan and some other countries. Apple launched the phone in Korea last month.
According to data released by the Korea Communications Commission on Monday, as of last month, the U.S. offered the lowest price among 14 countries for the iPhone XS with 64 GB storage, at W1.23 million (US$1=W1,132).
The Korean price tag of W1.36 million was higher than in Japan (W1.29 million), the Netherlands (W1.30 million), Canada (W1.34 million) and Switzerland (W1.35 million).
The phone was even more expensive in China (W1.42 million), Sweden (W1.61 million) and six other countries.
