Argentina Squad Named, 9 Stars Miss Out
07 November, 2020
Some big names have already been overlooked of Argentina's squad for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, while Angel Di Maria, who was simply furious to be snubbed last time around, has returned following his controversial remarks about Lionel Messi.
The Paris Saint-Germain winger was furious to have already been overlooked for Lionel Scaloni's previous squad selection, but has been recalled to the fold.
Defending himself from ideas that his days in the medial side are over, Di Maria had claimed that Messi should then also be looked at too old for the team, remarks that manager Scaloni did not appear to be too worried about.
Now, however, the 32-year-old is apparently back in the tactician's plans after being named in the team because of their World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay and Peru over the next two weeks.
Juventus midfielder Paulo Dybala was also selected for Scaloni's latest squad, while Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has missed out as a result of recent knock he found. PSG's Mauro Icardi is also unavailable.
