Atleti Latest Club To Reject Ronaldo?
It appears Atletico Madrid have become the latest club to deny any interest in Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo, who has also been turned down by the likes of Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

Rumours at the weekend suggested that Los Rojiblancos were weighing up a move for the ex-Real Madrid talisman, who scored 450 goals in 438 matches in Spain between 2009 and 2018.

A report from Spanish news outlet AS stated that Ronaldo had privately convinced Atleti manager Diego Simeone to sign him, with the Portugal captain believed to be desperate to seal a transfer away from United ahead of next season.

Ronaldo, 37, was said to have been disappointed by the Red Devils' slow start to the transfer window, and wants to continue competing for top honours after United failed to qualify for the 2022/23 edition of the UEFA Champions League.

However, the latest is that Atletico have distanced themselves from a move for the five-time Ballon d'Or winner as it is not "economically viable".

According to Marca, the LaLiga side would not be able to afford Ronaldo's mammoth wages, with it is thought that the club would need to sell a number of players before landing his signature.

Chelsea and Bayern Munich are among a few sides that have already decided to not pursue a transfer for the England-based forward, while it is rumoured that Paris Saint-Germain have ruled themselves out too.
