Jacob Blake, the young black man shot in the trunk multiple times by a white officer in Wisconsin, said "it hurts to breathe" and that he was in regular pain in a video message from his hospital bed.
Despite his injuries, which will likely leave him paralyzed from the waist down, Blake told his supporters "there's far more life to live."
"Your life, and not only just your daily life, your legs -- something that you have to move around and forward in life -- could be taken from you prefer this, man," Blake said, snapping his fingers, in the video released Saturday by his legal professional Ben Crump.
Wearing a hospital gown, Blake said he previously staples in his back and stomach.
"Twenty-four hours, every a day it's pain, it's only pain," he said.
"It hurts to breathe, it hurts to sleep, it hurts to go from side-to-side, it hurts to consume," he said in the video, which includes a lot more than 400,000 views on Twitter.
"Please, I'm letting you know, change your lives out there. We are able to stick together, make some cash, make everything easier for our persons out there, man, because there's so enough time that's been wasted."
The 29-year-old was gravely wounded when a policeman fired seven or eight shots at him as he tried to find yourself in his car on August 23 in Kenosha, in the Midwestern state of Wisconsin. Three of his children were in the automobile at the time.
The scene was filmed by bystanders and both police officers who were trying to avoid or arrest Blake have already been suspended.
Coming three months following the death of George Floyd, Blake's shooting has touched off a fresh round of demonstrations in a number of cities.
Protests in Kenosha commenced peacefully the night time Blake was shot, but descended into violence for many nights running.
It culminated August 25 when two people were shot dead. A 17-year-old white Trump supporter has been arrested and charged with murder.
Democratic presidential applicant Joe Biden spoke with Blake by phone on Thursday and met along with his family.
