Budget Carriers to Resume Asia Flights
12 June, 2021
Budget airlines have put on resume international flights following the government said it'll seek to open a severely limited travelling bubble with other Asian countries.
T'way Air has requested authorization to resume flights to the remote U.S. outposts of Guam and Saipan next month.
Air Seoul recently obtained permission to resume flights to Hong Kong and Japan and requested authorization to fly to Guam and Vietnam.
Air Busan applied to resume flights to Guam, even while Jeju Air already began to fly to Saipan this week.
Carriers intend to offer one trip a week for now but could increase them if demand rises. One airline sector insider stated, "Although no agreements have already been reached about the travelling bubble, we believe intercontinental flights will gradually resume."
