Burkina Faso Joins Cameroon In Last 16
Cape Verde 1-1 Cameroon
Cameroon finished as Group A winners despite dropping points against Cape Verde on Monday evening.

The Indomitable Lions had already secured their spot in the round 16 with a match to spare while Cape Verde were looking to bounce back from the loss to Burkina Faso.

After a quiet start, Cameroon got the opening goal of the tournament six minutes before the halftime break as Vincent Aboubakar fired into the bottom corner for his fifth goal of the tournament. Cape Verde got back on level terms in the 53rd minute as the returning Garry Rodrigues turned home Kenny Rocha Santos' strike at the far post. That point was not enough to secure a top-two spot for Cape Verde although they could finish as one of the best third-place sides.

Burkina Faso 1-1 Ethiopia
Burkina Faso advanced to the round of 16 after playing to a 1-1 draw with Ethiopia on Monday evening.

Former Bidvest Wits striker Getaneh Kebede was restored to the Ethiopian line-up after starting on the bench in the defeat to Cameroon.

The Stallions got off to the perfect start after Cyrill Barros Bayala opened the scoring on the night in the 24th minute.

The Ethiopians would go on to get the equaliser seven minutes after the break via Getaneh Kebede's penalty, which proved to be the final goal as the encounter ended all square.
