Canada PM Trudeau slams 'political' detentions after China spy charges
Primary Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday (Jun 22) blasted China's detention of two Canadians for "political ends," following expenses against them for spying.

His remarks came after China's Supreme People's Procuratorate on Fri said it had begun the prosecution of ex-diplomat Michael Kovrig and businessman Michael Spavor, who were "suspected of foreign espionage" and "providing talk about secrets".

The move, 18 months after their arrest in a long-jogging spat between your two countries, came only weeks after a Canadian judge ruled that proceedings to extradite Chinese Huawei executive Meng Wanzhou to america will go ahead.
