China may be keeping coronavirus data for commercial gain: Trump adviser
White House adviser Peter Navarro charged on Monday (Apr 20) that China may be withholding data about early coronavirus infections since it really wants to win the commercial race to make a vaccine.

The United States, which includes been the country worst damaged by coronavirus pandemic according to official statistics, has repeatedly contacting Beijing to talk about early data on the outbreak, which started in China.

"One of the reasons that they might not exactly have why don't we in and given us the info on this virus early, is they're racing to obtain a vaccine and they think this is just a competitive business race, it's a business proposition to ensure that they are able to sell the vaccines to the world," Navarro told Fox Business Network.

"But we will beat them. We're going to beat them as a result of President Trump's leadership. We're going to beat them because HHS has recently got a five-company horse race," said Navarro, discussing the united states Department of Health insurance and Human Services.

President Donald Trump has named Navarro, an outspoken critic of China, to focus on supply-line issues associated with the coronavirus pandemic.

There are no approved treatments or vaccines for COVID-19, the respiratory disease due to the coronavirus which has killed more than 165,854 globally, with an increase of than 2.41 million infected, according to a Reuters tally by 1400 GMT on Monday.
