China parliament to get started on key annual session on, may 22
China's parliament begins its key annual session on, may 22, more than 8 weeks later than at first planned due to the fallout from the coronavirus outbreak, the most recent sign that the united states is trying to come back to business as normal.

The gathering, which is in Beijing, is when China ratifies major legislation and unveils economic targets. The session was primarily scheduled to get started on on March 5 but was postponed due to COVID-19, which has infected nearly 83,000 persons and killed more than 4,600 on the mainland after emerging late this past year in the central city of Wuhan.

Conditions for holding the session have been met as the coronavirus epidemic situation has improved in the united states and monetary and social life steadily returned to normal, the state Xinhua news agency quoted the most notable decision-making body of the Chinese parliament as saying.

China's top political consultative body, the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, in addition has proposed to start its annual session on May 21.

It isn't clear yet how long the two meetings can last. The gatherings traditionally see a lot more than 5,000 delegates descend on Beijing from around China for at least 10 days, but the capital's local government has imposed stringent quarantine rules for anybody entering the location from elsewhere and policymakers are wary of a possible resurgence.
