China streamlines mainland visas for foreigners found in Hong Kong inoculated with Chinese-made COVID-19 vaccines
China's foreign ministry business office in Hong Kong said that it'll simplify mainland China visa applications for foreigners in the city who have been inoculated with Chinese-made COVID-19 vaccines.

The simplified process, effective from Monday (Mar 15), resumes pre-pandemic application requirements. It will be available just to applicants and their members of the family inoculated with Chinese-made vaccines.

These applicants have to have obtained a vaccination certificate, any office of China's international commissioner on Hong Kong said on a affirmation dated Friday.

It said it made the approach "because of resuming people-to-people exchanges between China and other countries within an orderly method". It didn't state why the simplified methods weren't extended to those getting other COVID-19 vaccines.

Foreign travellers who've been vaccinated with non-Chinese vaccines will still be required to present unfavorable nucleic acid tests and a health and travel declaration form, the statement stated.

It was not immediately sharp if the simplified types of procedures will be accessible to foreigners applying for visas beyond Hong Kong.

China has been engaged found in vaccine diplomacy to improve its standing found in Asia and all over the world, including supplying Chinese-made vaccine doses to participants as of this year's Tokyo Olympics and the Beijing 2022 Winter months Games.

But its efforts have hit snags, with commitments to distribution in Africa leading to few photos in arms, and politicians in Europe warning against their use before approval by the bloc's drugs regulator.
