China, US extend trade talks
The latest round of trade talks between China and the US has been extended, indicating that the two countries are determined to reach an agreement this time, said Global Times, a subsidiary of the People’s Daily, a Communist Party mouthpiece.

The trade talks on Tuesday in Beijing ran late into the night, but no information was disclosed regarding progress made, and negotiations were set to continue on Wednesday, the report said.

This vice ministerial-level talks were initially scheduled for Monday and Tuesday only.

It is the first face-to-face encounter between representives of the two countries since US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping agreed to a 90-day truce in Argentina last year.

Earlier on Tuesday, Trump tweeted: “Talks with China are going very well!”
