Clinical Real Madrid Punish High-Flying Getafe

It was an all-round impressive display from Real Madrid, who registered 3-0 win over Getafe to move top of LaLiga temporarily on Saturday evening.
Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Federico Valverde dropped to the bench from the side that played to a goalless draw against Athletic Bilbao, as Gareth Bale returned.
Solid piece of goalkeeping from Thibaut Courtois acrobatically pushed Mauro Arambarri’s first-time volley outside the area to safety as Real lived on the edge on 24 minutes.
A goalkeeping error from David Soria on 34 minutes gave Raphael Varane a perfect opening from Mendy’s supply and the Frenchman needed no invitation as he nodded in the opener.
Danger switched back to Real right on the brink of halftime, but Courtois palmed Leandro Cabrera’s header across goal wide to the far post following Faycal Fajr’s deep-lying cross.
Los Blancos had a second 53 minutes in the second half after Toni Kroos floated a dangerous delivery into the area which Varane seized on to head home his second from the back post.
Varane looked to turn provider when he lifted a dangerous ball over the top to Bale who aimed to chip Soria on 65 minutes, but the Spaniard effectively snatched the attempt.
Zinedine Zidane went for a double change under the final 20 minutes, as Isco and Kroos made way for Vinicius and Valverde.
Bale missed an easy chance for his side’s third when he connected with Luka Jovic’s through ball but his shot was blocked by Soria as the Welshman tried to round the Spaniard.
Insteadm Bale turned provider when he ran down the left side and crossed for Luka Modric to tap into an empty net, putting Real back to winning ways.
