Electrum hired to build 200-MW solar-wind farm in Poland
Polish engineering group Electrum Holding said that one of its units, Electrum Concreo, has been engaged as a general contractor for Poland's first commercial solar-wind power plant of a capacity exceeding 200 MW.

The contract, worth PLN 500 million (USD 112m/EUR 105m), includes the design, construction, installation and assembly of the systems. The facility will have 710 string inverters, 23 transformer stations and more than 345,000 photovoltaic (PV) n-type modules, the company said last week. "The new installation will make it possible to diversify energy sources by replacing solar power with wind power and vice versa, depending on local weather conditions," said Tomasz Taff, Electrum Concreo's Commerce Director.

The project in Kleczew, the central Wielkopolskie province, is prepared by the Lewandpol Group as the investor and Ergy as the project asset manager, Polish Development Fund (PFR) said in January when it announced a PLN-90-million loan to the group for the facility.

The units of Electrum Holding provide engineering solutions at every stage of the projects, the group said on its website. Electrum Concreo is focused on renewable energy. Its portfolio consists of 1.5 GW of green facilities, including the 219 MW Potegowo wind farm in Poland and a number of large-scale PV projects.
