Flights to Philippines Resume
Airlines on Tuesday resumed flights between Korea and Manila that had been grounded by the eruption of the Taal volcano in the Philippines on Sunday.

A Korean Air flight took off from Incheon International Airport at 7:45 a.m. and an Asiana Airlines flight at 7:35 a.m. as Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport partially reopened.

Flights to Guam and Saipan have also returned to normal. Air carriers had been forced to cancel or divert their flights to the popular winter holiday destinations due to the ash cloud from the volcano.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, however, the airport may be shut down again at any time as the risk of additional eruptions remains.
