Gasoline Prices Rise for 5th Week
30 September, 2019
Gasoline prices across the country have risen for the last five weeks since the government scrapped tax breaks in late August.
The average gasoline price in the fourth week of September stood at W1,539 per liter, up W9.9 compared to the previous week, according to Opinet, a website run by the Korea National Oil Corporation (US$1=W1,199).
At the end of August it was W1,494 per liter.
Industry watchers expect them to keep rising since they have yet to reach pre-tax-break levels while global crude price increases since the terror attack on a Saudi oil field have yet to be reflected here.
