Globe stunned by violence found in US Capitol as protesters try to overturn election
Environment leaders on Wednesday (Jan 6) expressed shock in the violent protesters who also took over the US Congress and attempts to overturn the Nov 3 presidential election results which dealt a success to Democratic challenger Joe Biden.

Police in the US Capitol responded with drawn guns and tear gas while hundreds of protesters stormed in and sought to drive Congress to undo President Donald Trump's election loss shortly after a few of Trump's fellow Republicans launched a last-ditch effort to get rid of the results.

UNITED KINGDOM

British Primary Minister Boris Johnson in a tweet described the scenes on the US Congress as a "disgrace", saying the United States stood for democracy all over the world and that was it had been "vital" now that there must be a tranquil and orderly transfer of power.

Uk Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab added in his unique tweet: "The US rightly takes wonderful pride in its democracy, and there can be very little justification for these violent attempts to frustrate the lawful and right transition of power."

FRANCE

In a video published on his Twitter account, French President Emmanuel Macron slammed the scenes of violence in Washington while also expressing his belief in the effectiveness of the democratic plan in the US.

Macron spoke found in both English and French in his Twitter video text messages, which carried the hashtag of "#WeAreOne".

"I just wanted to express our friendship and our faith in america. What occurred today in Washington DC isn't American, definitely. We have confidence in the effectiveness of our democracies. We believe in the effectiveness of American democracy," stated Macron, speaking in English.

Previously, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said along Twitter: "The violence against the American institutions is a grave assault on democracy. I condemn it. The will and the vote of the American persons should be respected."

EUROPEAN UNION

"Found in the eyes of the environment, American democracy tonight appears under siege," the EU's foreign coverage chief Josep Borrell tweeted.

Calling the action a great "assault on US democracy, its organizations and the rule of laws", he added: "This is simply not America. The election benefits of Nov 3 must be fully respected."

GERMANY

German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas said democracy's enemies will be cheered by scenes of violence in the United States Capitol, and he called on Trump to accept US voters' decision.

In a Tweet posted after protesters stormed the seat of the US legislature, Maas said the violence have been caused by inflammatory rhetoric. "Trump and his supporters must agree to your choice of American voters finally and stop trampling on democracy."

German Financing Minister Olaf Scholz, who is also the vice chancellor, likewise condemned the "disturbing images" from Washington.

RUSSIA

"Quite Maidan-style photos are via DC," Russia's deputy UN Ambassador Dmitry Polyanskiy published on Twitter, referring to protests found in Ukraine that toppled Russian-supported President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovich found in 2014.

"Some of my good friends ask whether someone will distribute crackers to the protesters to echo Victoria Nuland stunt," he said, citing a 2013 check out to Ukraine when then-US Assistant Secretary of Talk about Victoria Nuland offered food to protesters.

CANADA

Canadian Primary Minister Justin Trudeau expressed concern about the violent scenes in Washington. "Definitely we're worried and we're following circumstance minute by minute," Trudeau told the News 1130 Vancouver radio station. "I believe the American democratic institutions are strong, and hopefully everything will go back to normal shortly."
