Google tweaks privacy adjustments to keep less end user data
Google is tweaking its personal privacy settings to hold less info on new users by default.

The search giant said that starting Wednesday, it will automatically and consistently delete web and software activity and location history for new users after 1 . 5 years.

Options for existing users won’t be affected but the company might send reminders about the feature.

The change comes after Google added new controls this past year that allow users to effectively put an expiry date on their data, by providing the option to auto-delete location record, search, voice and YouTube activity info after three or 18 months.

The company is also making it simpler to toggle in and out of incognito mode when using its Search, Maps and YouTube portable apps by doing a long press on the profile photo. In incognito function, Google doesn't bear in mind any activity during on the web browsing.

In another change, users will get easier access to their controls when doing Google searches. If they're signed to their Google accounts and search for terms like “Google Personal privacy Checkup," they will visit a box only visible to them with their privacy and security settings.
