Haneda Airport’s new international facilities closes temporarily because of COVID-19
The operator for Haneda Airport has temporarily closed the new international facilities in Terminal 2 on Saturday, which opened at the end of March. International flights will be concentrated at Terminal 3 to increase personnel efficiency as the number of flights has drastically decreased because of the spread of the coronavirus.

The international facilities opened on March 29 to coincide with the expansion of international departure and arrival slots at the airport. All Nippon Airways has been using the international facilties but the number of flights to and from the airport have been decreasing. It has not been decided when the new facility will reopen.

Narita Airport will close one of its two runways starting on Sunday. The number of departures and arrivals have sharply dropped and the operator for Narita Airport believes it will take a considerable period of time for it to recover.
