Hanwha Solutions to Buy French Renewable Energy Company

Hanwha Solutions will acquire a French renewable energy company to expand its business amid the global effort to reduce carbon emissions.
The company said Monday it has decided to acquire a 100-percent stake in RES Méditerranée for 727 million euros.
Hanwha currently has 10 gigawatts of renewable energy projects globally, and the acquisition will boost that to 15 gigawatts.
"We will secure not only a firm position to supply solar power modules in Europe, but also a foothold for entry into the wind power market," the company said.
