Hardik Pandya Proves To Be India's Lone Warrior As His Solo Act Of Defiance Keeps South Africa

He has been hailed as the next Kapil Dev, called India's Jacques Kallis and is considered the next big thing in Indian cricket. However, for Hardik Pandya, coming in to rescue the team when the chips are down is something he is used to big time.

On Day 2 vs South Africa, he walked out to bat at 76/5. When the man reached his half-century, the score was 131/7. He had slammed 51 out of the 55 runs and hit 10 fours in his 46-ball fifty.

The Indians had been hurt bad with the early losses of Shikhar Dhawan, Murali Vijay and Virat Kohli on Day 1. The South Africans were on the money with their bowlers breathing fire.

Pandya was the sole act of defiance from the Indians and it will certainly shut his critics who were skeptical of how well he would do outside the sub-continent.
