Hatta goes dog-friendly: puppy picnics and doggy kayaking
Looking for somewhere new to go with your pup for a weekend? How about a vacation to Hatta?

Things found in the Dubai exclave are set to get much more dog-friendly seeing that the JA Hatta Fort Hotel is now welcoming four-legged good friends and their owners for outdoor picnics.

Occur 80 acres of grounds, the mountainside hotel has a lot of grassy lawns where visitors and their dogs can now enjoy fantastic views of the encompassing mountains and the Hatta Hollywood-esque sign.

Pet-loving community group Flopster offers partnered with the hotel to create the space, alongside a special daily Flopster menu that pet parents may order from. The main menu at Cafe Gazebo can be available for people to order from.

Every Friday, guests may join a live BBQ with their puppies in tow and special discounts for Flopster members.

There is no weight-limit for doggies, so animals of all sizes can enjoy a visit to Hatta's oldest hotel.

The news means that weekenders going to Hatta with their dogs for trekking and nature-filled walks, can schedule an end at the JA Hatta Fort Hotel before heading back again to the big city.

"So many people head to Hatta hiking with their puppies and there was no option for lunch anywhere with dogs before, which means this is best for all those day trips away with the furbabies," Kelly Yeomans from Flopster told The National.

The hotel isn't yet dog-friendly in various other spaces so overnight stays with canines are not available. However, Flopster is normally planning to host some more dog-centric experience at the rustic getaway over the next few weeks.

This will be accompanied by lunch at JA Hatta Fort Hotel, where guests can order from the Flopster menu. Pups can delight in complimentary sugar-free treats from Toby’s Treats Dubai.

Pre-booking for the function is not essential, but those interested in going have to register via Flopster's Instagram.
