HiteJinro's Soju Exports Exceed $50 Million Last Year

HiteJinro exported over US$50 million worth of soju or Korean distilled liquor last year. It was the first time the company surpassed the figure since 2013.
"We exported $53.84 million worth of soju last year, up 12.5 percent from the previous year," it said on Wednesday.
The company saw overall growth in the global market except Japan, where alcohol consumption is declining.
Exports to Asia Pacific regions including Southeast Asia grew 26.9 percent to $14.2 million. Exports to the Chinese-speaking countries, Africa and Europe, grew by 36 percent each.
