Home textiles pro is now U.S. project director for textile-to-textile recycling initiative
A seasoned professional with more than 20 years of experience in soft home manufacturing and sourcing will help Accelerating Circularity (ACP) advance the circular textile production model.

Angela Boswell joins the non-profit as U.S. project director and is based in New York. She will lead the U.S. textile-to-textile trials already underway.

Established in 2020 under a grant from the Walmart Foundation, ACP’s mission is to research, map, model, and test circular, textile-to-textile systems from the collection, sorting, preprocessing, and recycling through the conventional supply chain at standard commercial scale. The work demonstrates that textile-to-textile circular systems are feasible and worth engaging in for the entire supply. The enterprise’s U.S. steering committee members include Target, Gap Inc., Eastman, Lenzing, Unifi, Milliken, VF Corp., Nike, Giotex, and Gr3n (sic).

Boswell’s career has taken her from fabric to finished product, and from domestic production to global sourcing, exposing her to work across the entire textile value chain. She most recently was SVP of business development at Levinsohn Textiles, and prior to that was SVP of Ellery Homestyles.

“Her championing of the environment throughout her career has pushed her towards a passion to bring sustainability to scale in her industry, which comes into application in her work at ACP,” ACP said in its announcement.

Said Boswell: “I am excited to be part of an organization that is making things happen and moving the process forward. Circularity is a team sport and the way to win is with participation.”
