Huawei teases latest in-house 5G Kirin 990 chipset
Huawei has finally confirmed the launch dates for the latest Kirin 990 chipset. Just ahead of IFA Berlin, the Chinese tech company will announce its new in-house processor at their own event on September 6.

Huawei confirmed it by releasing the short video below. The video shows that the SoC would be equipped with 5G capabilities. And probably would have the modem built into the chipset itself.

Rumours suggest that the new chipset will finally allow 4K video recording at 60fps. The NPU is expected to be based on Huawei’s Da Vinci architecture and ARM’s latest CPU and GPU components.

The Kirin 990 will be produced on TSMC’s 7nm EUV process and we expect the Mate 30 to sport it once it is launched.
