Hyundai Engineering and Construction to Build Airport in Peru

Hyundai Engineering and Construction has won a US$428 million project from the Peruvian government to build an airport in Cusco.
The Korean builder is part of a consortium with Mexican and Chinese construction companies and has a 35-percent stake in the project.
"We defeated rival companies from Spain and Italy to win the order," a Hyundai staffer said.
Chinchero International Airport is being built in the Cusco region which is home to the main tourist attraction of Machu Picchu and will be able to handle 5.7 million travelers a year.
