Hyundai Receives Record 1st-Day Pre-Orders for New Avante Sedan
29 March, 2020
Hyundai received an archive number of first-day pre-orders because of its new Avante on Wednesday.
The fully revamped sedan sold 10,058 units on the first day of pre-sales, the most ever for the Avante. The figure is nine times a lot more than that of its predecessor (1,146) in 2016. Hyundai sold typically 5,175 Avantes per month last year.
It remains to be observed if the new Avante will raise the compact car market, which has seen demand shrink 32 percent during the last five years, as the coronavirus outbreak is hurting consumer sentiment.
The new car boasts a sleek, stylish look and driver-centered interior. Additionally it is equipped with cutting-edge safety and convenience features.
Hyundai will launch the new car on April 7 and plans to mark the occasion with a promotional video on its website and YouTube.
The gasoline model is priced between W15.31 million and W24.22 million, and the LPG model costs W18.09 million to W21.97 million (US$1=W1,229).
