'I would prefer election to second Brexit referendum'

Britain's opposition Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn said on Sunday he would prefer a national election to a second referendum on Brexit.
The Labour Party's annual conference in Liverpool is due to debate the idea of supporting a second referendum and Corbyn said he would be bound by what members decided.
"Our preference would be for a general election and we can then negotiate our future relationship with Europe but lets see what comes out of conference," he told.
Labour's leadership has not supported the idea of holding a second referendum on the final deal, but Rebecca Long-Bailey said it would respect any decision by party members at Labour's annual conference this week to back the idea.
"Our position is that we want to have a general election if Theresa May can't get the support of parliament or even her own party to push through whichever deal," she told.
