India may ditch iPhone 11
The iPhone 11 series have finally been announced and unlike previous years, the excitement surrounding the launch hasn’t lived up to the hype expected. Usually, when Apple announces a new iPhone, they sell it so well that every Apple fan across the globe is eager to splash the cash and pick up the new flavour of the year. However, in the case of the 2019 iPhone, people just aren’t excited or even invested in it; forget about even buying them.

The iPhone 11 with the LCD display and the 6.1-inch screen is surprisingly the most attractive handset of the lot and to think that it features cost-effective specifications in comparison with the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro is rather surprising. This brings us back to the case where people in Asian countries aren’t even interested in the new iPhones and for them owning an Apple iPhone is a bigger deal than owning the latest and greatest. So, for most markets around the world, the iPhone 11 should be the top-selling handset even though it features a dual-camera setup and an LCD panel.

For most, the dual-camera setup will be more than justified and as seen with the case of the iPhone XR, many people were more than satisfied with its performance. In fact, the iPhone XR has been the hottest selling iPhone of the last year and in the process even shoving the iPhone XS down the pecking order.

The iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are great handsets, there is no denying that. However, with the market being rather budget-conscious, purchasing the latest and greatest is no longer a priority. Sure, reports will claim that the iPhone 11 shipping dates are slipping and they will because it is a new iPhone launch. However, we don’t expect this trend to continue well into its refresh.

In India, the iPhone 11 starts at Rs 64,900 and stretches all the way up to Rs 1,41,900 which is pretty expensive for Apple’s desired target audience. Initially, the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro should sell here and the new Midnight Green is the Gold of last year. The Gold iPhone XS did well last year and we expect the trend to continue this year as well with the new colour option. However, with the iPhone 11 and its pricing, we will find more consumers flocking to Apple’s cheapest offering. The wide choice of colours will also be a strong factor in the decision making and the new green and purple colours will surely entice a few out there.

With the iPhone 11 set to hit shelves on September 27, we think that it’s a little too less too late especially with Android rivals such as OnePlus, Samsung, Huawei and more being the true trailblazers of the smartphone industry.
