India's coronavirus infections rise to 6.84 million

India's total coronavirus cases rose by 78,524 in the last a day to 6.84 million on Thursday (Oct 8) morning, data from medical ministry showed.
Deaths from COVID-19 infections rose by 971 to 105,526, the ministry said.
India's death toll from the novel coronavirus rose past 100,000 on Saturday, only the 3rd country on the globe to attain that bleak milestone, following the United States and Brazil, and its own epidemic shows no sign of abating.
The other day, India further eased restrictions and permitted states to open schools and movie theatres.
