Indonesia reports 105 new coronavirus instances, three more deaths
Indonesia has confirmed 105 new coronavirus cases, bringing the Southeast Asian country's total to 790, Wellbeing Ministry official Achmad Yurianto said on Wednesday (Mar 25).

Three more persons died, taking the full total number of deaths to 58, this individual said, adding 31 people possessed recovered from the virus.

The official said Tuesday's total had been revised down someone to 685 after a patient was counted twice.

Health authorities say Indonesia faces a good surge in coronavirus conditions and the data is seen as understating the level of infections because of a low rate of testing and a high mortality rate.

A report by the London-based Center for Mathematical Modelling of Infectious Conditions released on Monday estimates that as few as 2 per cent of Indonesia's coronavirus infections have been reported.

That would bring the real number to as much as 34,300, which is a lot more than Iran.

Other modellers are projecting that instances could go up to as much as 5 million on the capital, Jakarta, by the finish of April under a worst-case scenario.

"We have shed control, it has already pass on everywhere," Ascobat Gani, a public health economist told Reuters. "Maybe we will observe Wuhan or Italy. I think we will be in the range of that".

The federal government says the impact of the virus will not be that severe.

"We won't be like this," explained Achmad Yurianto, a senior health ministry official, referring to comparisons with outbreaks in Italy and China.

"What's significant is that we rally the people ... they need to keep their distance."
