Is this 'Game of Thrones' hotel suite in New York the best place to watch the new season?
11 April, 2019
We’re just days away from the final season of Game of Thrones hitting screens on April 14, after a wait of nearly two years since series seven concluded. And, to celebrate the occasion, a New York hotel is getting firmly into the spirit of the show by creating the ultimate staycation suite for fans of the fantasy epic.
The Manhattan’s Refinery Hotel is offering ‘Thronies’ the chance to check in to Lannister’s Lair, a themed suite that’s been transformed from one of the West 38th Street hotel’s executive suites.
The lair is the ideal place to catch the latest action from across the seven kingdoms. Not only is it stocked with plenty of faux fur throws, ideal for draping around you as you channel your inner Sansa Stark, it also comes with a fascinating collection of ‘dragon’ eggs which will appeal to fans of the silver-haired Khaleesi.
Show your true colours by picking your favourite house from the stately banners draped across one of the walls.
Lannister fans will enjoy sipping from golden goblets, and there’s also a themed dinner menu with dishes inspired by the show, including things like the Feast of Winterfell or a Braavos Branzino.
Check in early to binge on previous seasons of the show – the suite comes with access to HBO and HBO GO – and then get ready to settle down in front of a huge television to devour all of the season eight Westeros action.
Lannister’s Lair is bookable every Sunday from April 14 until the end of the season, with rates starting at Dh2,126. Since there’s only six episodes in the final season, you’ll have to be quick if you want to sleep over and bookings for the final episode, due to air on May 19, are already sold out.
