Japan may limit function attendance as COVID-19 cases surge
22 November, 2020
Japan might reimpose attendance restrictions for activities and other large events to curb a good spike in COVID-19 infections, market minister Yasutoshi Nishimura said on Sunday (Nov 22).
The limits will be applied in regions of the country seeing a sharp upsurge in cases, Nishimura said on a talk show on public broadcaster NHK. The government imposed attendance limits earlier in the entire year but relaxed them lately.
The government can be considering how exactly to refund cancellation service fees for customers who booked trips with a domestic tourism campaign that was partially suspended on Saturday, Nishimura said.
New coronavirus circumstances across Japan climbed to a record 2,596 in Saturday, according to NHK. In Tokyo, the daily an infection rate was an all-time huge 539 cases.
