Jingdong’s Liu returns following US sex assault allegations
Jingdong, China’s major e-commerce giant, said its founder, CEO and chairman, Liu Qiangdong has now returned to China, following sexual assault allegations in the US, The Paper reported.

On September 2, Liu was believed to be involved in an alleged sexual assault in the United States.

The company, also known as JD.com, clarified in its latest announcement that Liu was detained by police in Minneapolis and was released shortly afterward.

During this period, Liu was not charged and was not required to pay any bail.

According to information released by the official website of the Hampshire County Sheriff’s Office in Minnesota, a person named “Liu Qiang Dong” was arrested for “suspected sex crimes” by Minneapolis police on August 31.

The current status of the case is “released pending complaint.”
