‘KenFest for MS’ set for July 28 at Palaia Winery
29 July, 2018
KenFest, a benefit for multiple sclerosis, will be held July 28 from noon to 10 p.m. at Palaia Winery in Highland Mills.
KenFest for MS was created by the Nicastro family of Monroe when a friend of Ken Nicastro asked for a donation for his annual MS 5K walk.
During KenFest, Hudson Valley musicians get together to play music, spend the day with friends and family, and raise money for multiple sclerosis.
In addition to live music, the event will include a tricky tray, local vendors, hayrides, a bounce house, local wine, craft beer and food.
Performers will include Floyd Pink, Hurley Mountain Highway, TWD 2.0, Three Guys from Lodi (3GL), Big Time Tomato, Bruce Perone and Leslie Bowe, Jim and Michelle Iannucci, Rob Schiff, the Paddy Mac Project and more.
The fundraising goal is $8,000, with the hope of exceeding the $8,200 raised last year.
“As we talk to people we have been touched by all who have offered help, time or money, including local businesses, musicians, and people we’ve never met who are helping to spread the word of KenFest,” said Linda Nicastro. “We have met many people who we did not know before, who really want to contribute in any way they can.”
Funds raised will help to fund research into the development of newer drugs and medications to help those with this disease.
