Kim Kardashian's island special birthday provokes backlash: 'We could pretend things were normal'

In order to round up your family members and whisk them off to a private island to celebrate your birthday should be an almost unanimous dream, however, it's a viable opportunity for very few.
Factor in the actual fact that, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, there are PCR tests, quarantines and periods of isolation to contend with, and that birthday retreat feels as though even more of an impossibility.
But not for Kim Kardashian. Even though many of us have already been attending eight months of Zoom birthday celebrations, the reality TV star rounded up her closest friends and family and took them to an exclusive island on her behalf 40th birthday.
The mother-of-four marked her birthday on October 21 and, a week later, shared an insight into her celebrations on Twitter.
"Forty and feeling so humbled and blessed. There isn't an individual day that I take for granted, especially during these occasions when we all have been reminded of things that truly matter," she wrote, sharing a picture with four of her five five siblings, Khloe, Kourtney and Rob Kardashian and Kendall Jenner.
