Korean Air to Buy 20 New Passenger Planes by 2025
Korean Air will spend W7.45 trillion until 2025 to buy 20 new passenger planes, the airline said last Thursday (US$1=W1,176). The move is aimed at bolstering mid and long-haul flights.

Korean Air will buy 10 Boeing 787-10 and another 10 787-9 despite the scandal that has engulfed the aerospace giant's 737 Max planes.

The carrier plans to lease another 10 planes at a cost of W1.9 trillion and launch new flights to China and the Philippines in the second half of this year.

The new destinations are Nanjing, Zhangjiajie and Hangzhou after Korean Air won licenses in aviation talks with China in March. Starting in late October, Korean Air will also offer flights to Clark, Philippines seven times a week.
