Korean Air to Resume Guam Flights in August

Korean Air said Monday that flights to Guam will resume in August rather than November as planned.
Koreans who want to enjoy the beaches and golf courses of the U.S. overseas territory are exempting from quarantine if they have been fully vaccinated.
The change in Korean Air's schedule comes after Guam authorities added AstraZeneca's coronavirus vaccine, which is the most widely used in Korea, to the list of approved vaccines on top of Moderna, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson.
Korean Air will fly to Guam every Thursday from Aug. 5 and ticket bookings started Monday.
The government is in negotiations about a travel bubble with Saipan, Taiwan and Thailand, prompting other carriers to prepare to resume overseas flights as well.
But airlines are afraid of the Delta variant that is spreading across the world. One industry insider said, "If the situation gets worse, international flights could end up getting grounded again, so we are closely watching what health officials are saying."
