Venue: Villa Park

Liverpool waved goodbye to their prefect start to the growing season after suffering an uncomfortable 7-2 loss to Aston Villa in Sunday's Premier League action.

Villa got off to an ideal start after Ollie Watkins opened the scoring in the fourth minute with close-range finish after the right work by Jack Grealish.

After Barkley squandered a major chance, Watkins were able to bag his and Villa's second goal on 22 minutes with a powerful finish into the top corner after another Grealish assist.

The Reds did pull an objective back the 33rd minute through Salah, who found the back of the web with a pleasant strike.

Liverpool's joy was short-lived though as John McGinn restored Villa's two-goal cushion two minutes later with a deflected effort off Virgil van Dijk.

Villa bagged a fourth goal six minutes prior to the break as Watkins completed his hat-trick by nodding home Trezeguet's cross.

The hosts came out with the same approach in the next half and got a fifth goal in the 55th minute as Barkley marked his debut with a neat strike from distance.

While Salah pulled another goal back for Liverpool on the hour mark, Villa were able to grab their sixth goal six minutes later as Grealish's strike deflected in off Fabinho.

Grealish went on to bag Villa's seventh goal with 15 minutes left on the clock with a composed finish from close range as the Reds continued to suffer their first defeat of the league season.
