Lukaku & Co Frustrated As Inter Slip Up At Roma
Inter Milan missed the chance to put some daylight between themselves and Juventus after dropping points at AS Roma on Friday evening.

Injury-hit Inter recalled Diego Godin in defence and gave a first league start to Borja Valero in midfield, while Romelu Lukaku shrugged a bout of flu to lead the line.

Stand-in goalkeeper Antonio Mirante was forced into action after just eight minutes as he palmed Lukaku from trying to pick out the bottom corner after a back pass failed to pay off.

Davide Santon’s evening - against the side he had two spells with - ended early and was replaced by Leonardo Spinazzola eight minutes later.

Inter looked to remain on top of the table with Juventus breathing heavily down their neck but a mix-up from Mirante went unpunished as Marcelo Brozovic was unable to convert with the goal gaping just before the break.

Mirante frustrated the Nerazzurri all the more six minutes after halftime with another mind-boggling save from an outside-of-the-boot shot from Matias Vecino after good work from Valero.

Exactly a year ago the two sides played to an entertaining 2-2 draw in Rome and as the match hanged in the balance, Roma survived every attack that Inter failed to bury.

Roma went and changed shape up front and recalled Eden Dzeko from the bench in the 68th minute with Diego Perotti sacrificed.

Despite the late changes, There wasn’t any difference in the second half as the Nerazzurri drop to a second league draw of the season, while Roma hang on to fourth spot.
