Maldives confirms initial two cases of coronavirus

The Maldives on Saturday (Mar 7) reported its first two confirmed cases of different coronavirus, and placed two of its island resorts under lockdown, as authorities conducted even more tests to try to limit the spread of the condition.
The two infected persons are thought to have caught the condition from an Italian tourist who has returned to Italy and tested positive there.
"These two cases which tested positive are from a vacation resort. They are staff of the holiday resort and are nowadays quarantined," said Ali Waheed, the tourism minister of the island country, the economy which is heavily dependent on foreign tourists.
In a news release previously Saturday, the Maldives Health Cover Agency said two French nationals on another island who confirmed symptoms of the condition had also been located in isolation on Saturday.
Health authorities said that they had stopped travel to and from the Kuredu Island Holiday resort and the summertime Island resort, even though officials conduct call tracing and have necessary precautions.
It had been not immediately clear just how many vacationers were under lockdown on each one of the islands.
Summer Island confirmed found in a affirmation that it had been placed under non permanent quarantine although it awaits test outcomes on both guests and a holiday resort doctor, a great Indian national who also began showing symptoms after treating the two guests.
Officials at the Kuredu Island Holiday resort weren't immediately reachable for comment.
