Maradona's Last Words On Messi & Ronaldo
With Diego Maradona having often been asked about his judgment on the Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate, here's what he said about both superstars in his last interview.

The Argentina legend sadly passed on on Wednesday after suffering a cardiac arrest in his sleep.

Maradona, considered by various to be one of the biggest players - if not the best - of all time, was often questioned about Messi and Ronaldo.

When he gave what would end up being his final interview to France Football shortly before his 60th birthday on 30 October, he insisted no-one will come near to the two superstars.

"Messi and Cristiano, Cristiano and Messi. For me personally, these two certainly are a trim above others," Maradona told France Soccer.

"I don't find anyone approaching them. Not really a solo person (will) achieve 1 / 2 of what they do."

Maradona, though, did previously admit that he prefers Messi, although he do also praise Ronaldo.

"I prefer Messi to Cristiano Ronaldo, but I acknowledge that the latter is an pet," he explained, as quoted by the Daily Mirror.

"I wish he was Argentine. He's extraordinary. He would make me think of Gabriel Batistuta. When he touched the ball, it was a goal."

He also once claimed: "I can't remember having seen Messi play badly.

"There are players who've been touched by a magic wand. We Argentines are proud that Lionel Messi can be Argentinian."
