These numbers are a long way off expectations and represent another failure in Margot Robbie's filmography.
The actress has had a 2022 to forget, adding to the failure of 'Amsterdam' and the cancelled 'Pirates' to her latest flop. The first one featured performers such as Christian Bale, Robert De Niro, Rami Malek and Taylor Swift. However, from an initial budget of 80 million dollars, the film barely grossed 16 million dollars domestically.
The film, which was intended to reboot the 'Pirates of the Caribbean' saga for Disney, was cancelled due to fierce criticism for the absence of Johnny Depp, who at the time was involved in a lawsuit with his ex-wife Amber Heard and accused of abuse.
Despite rumors of a possible return of Jack Sparrow, this never happened and Margot Robbie was left without the chance to star in the film.
