Mbappe Makes Big Call On Future
19 August, 2021
It has been suggested that Kylian Mbappe has finally made the all-important call on where he will play his football this season following the arrival of Lionel Messi at Paris Saint-Germain.
A lot has been said about the 22-year-old's future in recent weeks, with Real Madrid reportedly desperate to land his signature in this transfer window.
Having only a year remaining on his contract in Paris, the French giants are believed to be trying to persuade him to remain in Ligue 1 as it appears he is edging towards an exit from the club.
According to Spanish publication Cadena SER, however, Mbappe has decided that he will stay at PSG, although that might only be until the end of the 2021/22 season.
The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner could reportedly still look to join Los Blancos, understood to be the club of his dreams, in 2022 when he officially becomes a free agent.
This, however, could cause issues for the forward in terms of his relationship with PSG and their fans, who have, in the past, turned on players who refused to sign new deals with the club.
It is further suggested that in order to land his signature before the end of this window, 13-time UEFA Champions League winners Real would need to offer PSG more than €150 million (R2.6 billion).
It was claimed last week that Mbappe was eager to push for a move away from PSG despite Messi's arrival at the Parc des Princes, which many thought would prompt him to sign a new contract in France.
He then seemed to try to shut down any rumours of a rift between himself and Messi by welcoming the 2021 Copa America winner to the French capital in an Instagram post.
